Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never met with a therapist before. What should I know?

If this is your first time reaching out to a therapist, I would recommend booking a free, 30 minute consultation session with me. So much research shows that the most important factor in therapy being successful is your relationship with your therapist - that fit has to be there. That’s the main reason I offer consultation appointments.

You can also write down questions you may have for me, whether it be about my training, my approach or anything else that would help you feel more confident in deciding if I’m a good fit for you!

How long are therapy sessions?

Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. 90 minute sessions can be explored upon request.

How much does it cost to meet with you?

My rate for individual therapy is $150. For parent therapy and couples therapy, my rate is $170.

Are your services covered by insurance?

If your health and benefit plan has mental health coverage for services provided by a registered psychotherapist, then yes! I always recommend double checking with your insurance provider first. I do not provide direct billing.

How long/often will I meet with my therapist?

This is a great question - and doesn’t have a simple answer . There are times where I meet with someone once and they feel that they got what they needed in terms of support, other times, I meet with people on an ongoing basis. I work with my clients to decide what frequency works best for them, and I engage in frequent check-ins around how therapy is going.
